BC Vandalism Prevention Network
elcome to www.vandalismsolutions.org, the webportal of the British Columbia Vandalism Prevention Network,
a community of organizations and individuals engaged in preventing
vandalism to public and private property. Membership is free and open
to anyone.
The idea for the network grew out of a provincial Vandalism Prevention
Best Practices Conference hosted in Maple Ridge in the spring of 2005.
The conference drew over 200 delegates from across BC representing
school districts, municipalities, law enforcement agencies and
businesses involved in managing and eliminating vandalism. It was
sponsored by RCMP "E" Division Community Policing Services, the BC
School Plant Officials' Association, the BC Schools Protection Program,
Ridge Meadows Parks and Leisure Services and School District No. 42
(Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows).
The central message of the conference was that communications and
partnership building are essential, not only on the local level, but
also on the provincial level.
The conference demonstrated the much good work being done, but little information sharing is taking place. The vandalismsolutions.org webportal has been created with financial support five funding partners
to provide a means of sharing best practices and ideas and information
on an ongoing basis. To join click here. Your confirmation of membership will be emailed to
you, allowing you to login and access the "members only" section.
