andalism is a growing scourge in many British Columbia communities. It is not only one of the most costly crimes
to society in terms of dollars, it is a crime that tears at the very
fabric of a community.
A
number of organizations and community groups
have been
working hard to find effective ways to prevent vandalism. But there has
been little information sharing. They are now joining together to
form the BC Vandalism
Prevention Network which has developed this web portal with the support
of the Mounted Police Foundation, Safe Streets-Safe Schools, RCMP "E"
Division Community Policing Services, the BC School Plant Officials'
Association and School District No. 42 (Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows. <more>
We Share Best Practices...

is much good work being done in the field of vandalism
prevention in BC and elsewhere. However, until now there hasn't been an
efficient and easy way to share those best practices. We have
identified a wide range of best practices developed in our province and
in jurisdictions around the world. <more>
We Introduce the Latest Product Innovations...
e provide information about new products and services
and existing ones that that have proven to be effective in preventing and remediating all
forms of vandalism. Not everyone can test every new product, so we encourage members to share how well a new product works. <more>
We Exchange Information and Ideas...
e provide a web forum
for members to share information and ideas and ask questions. Each page
on the site invites visitors to share their thoughts about the
information being presented. In addition, we have web polls to give visitors an opportunity to express their opinions on various matters.
We Bring You the Latest News...
andalism is a serious problem in other parts of Canada and in many countries, and there are numerous
news reports describing what communities are doing
to address the problem. We sort through those stories and provide links to
those which may be of interest to British Columbians engaged in the fight against vandalism. <more>
